SeedCommand provides complete control over planting operations - from seeding
populations that vary based on planting prescriptions to the AutoSwath feature
that automatically turns planter sections on/off based on previously covered
areas on the field map. SeedCommand offers lower seed cost during planting
as well as improved yield potential at harvest time.
Ag Leader's AutoSwath feature is
used to control planter clutches to automatically turn planter sections on/off
based on field maps and previously planted areas. Reduced overplanting and
increased yield potential are some of the main benefits of this feature.
Depending on the field size and shape, customers have reported seed cost savings
of 3-12 percent. Ag Leader's AutoSwath supports/controls most leading
planter clutches, including SureStop, Tru Count, and John Deere RowCommand
clutches. It doesn't take long for those extra bags of seed saved
to add up to a pretty substantial savings, especially at $300 a bag.
SeedCommand works with the Integra,
EDGE, and
InSight precision ag displays. While the three displays share
many of the same features, there are a few things that the Edge is limited
on. The chart below shows the comparisons of the three displays.

Monitoring |

Variable
Rate Planting |
|

|
|

|
|
The system offers complete planter monitoring functions to
replace existing planter monitors. SeedCommand will monitor and log
average population and seed spacing. A color bar graph and
population display provide this information in real time. Planter
monitoring functionality is available for all major planter brands
including KINZE, John Deere, White, and Case IH. |
|
Control seed costs and improve
yield potential across the entire field with variable rate
planting. SeedCommand varies the seeding rate based on
prescription maps to match seeding rates to soil potential.
SeedCommand supports direct control of PWM and motorized servo hydraulic
valves found on Case IH, John Deere, KINZE, and White planters, as well
as the Rawson ACCU-RATE hydraulic drive. |
| Hybrid/Variety
Mapping |
|
Split
Planting |
 |
|
 |
| SeedCommand records planting operations in real time,
mapping the location of each hybrid/variety planted. Map and plan
application events and view yield maps at harvest time for more accurate
field observations. |
|
By programming the display for split planting,
SeedCommand lets the operator record different hybrid/varieties in different
sides of the planter. SeedCommand will track where each seed type
is planted, making it easy to compare and log side-by-side performance
at harvest time. |

Real-life benefits
of SeedCommand include: |
-
Lower seed costs by eliminating double planting at
end rows, point rows and around terraces
-
Makes following the row at harvest easier on
end/point rows
-
Prevents
yield loss due to lodging and nutrient competition in double-planted
areas
-
Improves
planting productivity by eliminating the need to slow down to
accurately raise/lower the planter at end rows
-
Reduces
cab clutter by replacing other monitors
|
-
Makes night planting easier by eliminating the need
to watch for end rows
-
Saves insecticide on planters with granular boxes
driven by the planter transmission
-
Documents refuge acres for GMO crops
-
Record valuable population information including
total seeds planted and average seeds planted per acre
-
Effortless population control without leaving the
tractor seat.

SureStopTM
Electric Row Clutches |

|
| The SureStop electric row clutch is a low maintenance,
user-friendly solution to reduce seed cost and improve yield potential
in row crop operations. The clutches communicate with the
SeedCommand system to automatically turn on and off planter sections
based on field maps and already covered areas. |
- SureStop clutches are installed on the inside of the row unit
between the seed meter and the drive shaft sprocket.
- Drive shaft does not need to be removed for installation or
removal.
- Fully sealed enclosure resists moisture, dust, UV rays, and
corrosion.
- Internal oil wick keeps the clutch lubricated.
|
- Low amperage current draw is applied to engage clutch to stop
planting.
- If power to clutch is lost, planter will still plant.
- Planter can be controlled in one or two-row sections up to 36
sections
- Case IH, John Deere, KINZE, and White chain drive planters are currently
supported.
